Change and models.

I actually found an article that talks about change, models, and Global warming!. Here is the link.
First it talks about how aerosols could be a key to climate change. They defined aerosoles as "fine particels such as smoke and dust that form droplets in clouds and change cloud thickness." These aerosoles affect how much sun can pass through the clouds to earth, which can strike climate change. Right here we have a chain effect of things that lead to a big change. The small particles make droplets and change the cloud thickness. This small change makes a bigger change. Because the clouds are thicker it changes the climate. So from this, a series of events can cause change. To explain this whole situation they use models. They say to think of it as having a cloud made of cotton and another of styrofoam. Moisture and light will pass through the cotton easier than the styrofoam, because the styrofoam is thicker(has aerosoles)Of course there arn't real clouds made of cotton or styrofoam so this is a model to help us understand a situation related to global warming (which many see as a big deal). Using these models could help us pin point a factor of global warming, aerosoles may be a big part. By expanding on research these scientist can reach a model that will help them predict temperature change. This is significant to why models are important.

I agree that using models can be really helpful. The example used on your post about cotton clouds and styrofoam cloads helped out a lot because at first I didn't really understand it and then that cleared it all up. The website you had also looked good. It had some interesting factors on global warming. The only question i have is that when they say aerosals do they mean things like Oust? And if that's the case wouldn't using those kind of products be hurtful to the environment which is sort of ironic because Oust is suppose to clean the air.

Yes, models help... Good example...Good job...you're amazing...

Subbu creepy first of all. But I agree with what you said Tara. We need models to understand why things happen and their causes/effects. I also enjoyed the website you linked to.
